custom intake
After installing the intercooler there was no room for the standard cold air intake pipe. I fabricated one to go all the way down under the bumper and the cone filter faces forward and is visible when looking at the front of the car. This has worked great until this last weekend I drove the car to Biloxi, MS (about 500 miles from home) through some heavy rain. Evidently I sucked some water into the AFM and although the car didn't stall, it ran very lean and coughed and sputtered alot as anyone would do if they inhaled alot of water. After stopping and checking things out, I found the problem. I let the car idle for about an hour and I guess that dried it out. I removed the intake pipe and put a child's sock over the AFM and it ran fine like that all weekend at the beach and all the way back home. Now I have to figure something out for an intake all over again. Probably have to move the intercooler forward and put the intake behind it. Trial and error...
I just thought I'd share that with you guys.

try fabricating a shield around your intake so when driving in the rain water cant slpash up on it or get in your system.. its prolly a lot easier to do then moving your intercooler forward and re do your IC plumbing...

I only wish that was possible! Too bad it rains almost every day here during the summer. I think I can mount it a little higher and be okay. I guess 2 hours in a torrential downpour was just too much.
