My understanding it might be a lean mixture, correct if I'm wrong. My turbo and manifold was glowing red one day...look pretty cool, wish I had a camera at the time.

Yeah, you might be running too lean... No Bueno! Make sure all your fuel goodies are working right.

check your timing as well, if its off its just as bad as a lean condition

yeah... getting a cast iron manifold to glow takes some work! A lot of those vids showing a glowing manifold, are stainless steel turbo manifolds.... they are glowing from sheer heat & backpressure.

Deffinately check your a/f ratio, and make sure your exhaust is flowing correctly. Did the engine heat up when you were driving?

I saw the exhaust manifold on my old SAAB 900 Turbo SPG glow once... ONCE!

That was the end of that car...

everything was good but that... car temp was good. timing is good... could it be maybe a clog cat? buliding to much back pressure?

I crossed some plug wires on a friends '78 Camaro once and almost the entire right side exahust was glowing like the sun, it would pop a little bit under acceleraton but we did not really notice a big performance loss....just a thought to check those wires.
