Exhaust Manifold Wrap

So I've searched the forum and not find any info.

Has anybody wrapped their exhaust manifold? This is for a turbo and as I look at the manifold it seems very difficult to tightly wrap strips around it successfully . At best I can see, I could only successfully wrap three of the ports for cylinders 1,2 and 6.

Assuming it is possible to wrap the exhaust, should I continue with the down pipe?

Thanks.

are you trying to wrap a stock exhaust mani? just go get it thermal coated it's just as good as a wrap but it won't rust out the manifold. i would look into it, although i forgot what it's called.

Beautiful and thank you Snw!

So the 2 inch wrap works good, what do you think of the 1 inch?

didn't use the 1 inch. there are a couple "semi exposed" spots under the exhaust manifold that the 1 inch wrap might be able to conceal a bit more, but honestly, it makes no difference. this stuff is great for keeping engine bay and intake temps down. DEI titanium stuff. I'd just go 2 inch and do the best you can that way you don't have to worry about running out of wrap. What you see there is actually the full 50 foot roll lol. that stuff doesn't go very far.

Ordered 2in X 50 feet "Titanium" or "Crushed Lava Rocks" thermal wrap from amazon for less than $40.

that's exactly what I did. 35 dollars and free shipping. You'll need some steel cable ties. find a napa and have them order these for you

It was suggested to me that stainless steel hose clamps would be better/easier

I'm recommending the metal cable ties snw used, I used them to wrap the headers on my sbc 240z and they worked great, until you have to remove them.

Okay, you can actually find stainless steel zip ties at Home depot for $4.99 for a 10 pack of 11 inch.
