exhaust system
>
My wife and I restored an 83 280zx Turbo for our son.
He would like to put on one of those mufflers like in the fast and the furious.
What exhaust system sounds the best on this straight 6, turbo?
I was thinking of just putting a glasspack and a stainless tip.
That would be cheaper, but would it sound ok?

Also Is it normal for the secondary cooling fan to run when the car is off?
And if it is, how long should it run?
Thanks for any advise.

The muffler that I'm using is a Dynomax Bullet Race round muffler. They're free flowing and loud without the glass pack farter sound. Most of the stainless mufflers are glass packed and very expensive. The Bullet will run you around $35 and just put a stainless tip on it if thats the "Fast and Furious" look that your son is after. I'd also suggest atleast a 2 1/2" exhaust system all the way back from the down pipe with a high flow CAT.
As for the injector cooling fan, it should come on a few minutes after the ignition is shut off if the engine temp is above 220(i think) and run for approximately 15 minutes(can't find exact # in my manual...its here somewhere)
Hope this helps.
