fuel injector fun time !!!!
Welp, after about five years, I'm finally working on my '83 ZX n/a. It's been sitting that long, so I'm starting from the wheels and going up. My main goal is to have it road ready by Steptember 1st (my birthday). I've already dropped he gas tank, cleaned it out, replaced the fuel line (rubber connections) and some tune-up stuff (electrical, and lubricant).
Today (06MAY03) I'm pulling the injectors and cleaning them. Does anyone know any telltale signs for replacing these? I will put larger injectors in there eventually, but I'm just looking to get "Stephanie" back on the road right now.
Thanks for for your help!!

I would fill them up from the fuel rail side with carb cleaner and let them sit for a day or two to clean up any varnish.
If they leak, that is a good sign to replace them, and if they won't fire when you get the car up and running. You will be able to tell since it won't run on a cylinder, and if you disconnect the injector clip from the injector, there won't be any change in how the engine runs.
One that is firing will make a noticeable difference in how the engine runs when you disconnect it. You can also listen to the injector by touching it with a screw driver and listening to the end of it for ticking. No tick, injector not working.
