Got my baby on a computer!

alright; the diagnostics read that it's the coil and power transistor. Would those going bad cause it to run rich and not burn gas properly? i thought those parts were just for ignition.

You know what, the ECU in the 280ZX is so old, there is no computer readout. I'm wonding if their computer diagnostic is bogus!

You're right. That would NOT cause the car to run rich. Some items of interest are

Fuel Pressure Regulator
Head temp sensor
Block temp sensor
Air Flow Meter
throttle position switch
Oxygen Sensor

What car do you have? year and model?

Yah, just plug in the OBDII sensor!
No bleech is right there is no real diagnosis on the early cars!
Just replace it all with new and it should fix it! J/K

Did you use an ECCS analyzer? That's the only thing I've ever heard of that will diagnose some of the codes given out by the ecu. Best to check the items listed by Bleach.
