Break the damn bolts, they go into the cat anyway! My cat hadnt been touched since new, and the bolts came out no prob. It would take longer to do all that welding and stuff than to just break some bolts and extract them, unless the mechanic is a dumbass or afraid of the torch, like the girlie men I work with. When handling the torch I always think: What the worst that can happen, I light the car on fire and the gas tank explodes? If it does, I'll never feel it anyway!

no..i was gonna buy a peace of pipe 2.5 inches od... and 2 flanges just like the ones that bolt up to the cats.. with the 2 holes and custom make my own.. im heading down to muffler shops monday to find 2 flanges that will bolt up just right and if not i will make my own... out of weld steel... ..
