headers

Quick question about headers. Been checking msa and there headers only go up to 1978. Any reason why? I know the headers will bolt onto my head, but will they have problems bolting up with the rest of the exhaust system, since they're designated to be used on the 280z.

If you have rack and pinion stering you will probably have a problem. I have heard from felow zdrivers on this site that they wont fit do to that. I bought three into two header, but I don't have rack and pinion, and no I havn't had any problems bolting it up. of cours I redid the rest of the exhaust.

I fit their standard headers in my 280ZX with rack steering. They fit fine with room to spare. I thought the only fitment issues were making sure you match the exhaust ports (round or square) with the correct header to fit that shape.

oh I don't know if that is what he ment or not, I was saying as far as the msa headers go it was a rack and pinion deal.

besides, the squareness on the header dosn't matter I don't think, because on the zx head the ports are smaller than the pipes squares. no extra restriction I don't think.

alright, this is the header I bought. Think this will hook up to the rest of my exhaust without any modifications

Funny man, I was watching that for the hell of it. Congrats on winning it, hope all works well. I love the sound headers make. I recently got one from a user on here that answered my wanted post. $60 with shipping, though they are rusted and rough. They will look brand new when I get done with them.
