uh no... you use a timing gun and adjust it by turning the distributor.

doesnt gotta be anything. could be his imagination. doubt it though. but im saying. you cant just automatically rule it a timing issue. though it really does sound like one. could be the afm, could be injectors going out, could be in properly set tps, could be bad cap/rotor/wires/and or plugs. could be could be could be

still accelerates though right? as long as it does still accelerate then check the timing and might as well do a tune up new cap rotor plugs and wires run premium through it with seafoam in the gas and run some through the throttle body. doesnt really sound like you have much of a problem

Installation depends on which bov you get. Most have a flange that you can just weld onto the j-pipe. Others are connected via a hose to a port. On one of my 280zxt's I did this:

On my main Z I've tried a 1G DSM bov and a TurboXS/XSpower RFL bov:

Yes, you need to take one vacuum line from the intake manifold to the bov to actuate it correctly.

rfl is rice with its big ole horn to make a louder woosh hehehe... BOV installation once you get the flange on is easier than easy. if you cant achieve it in 2 minutes you shouldnt hold a tool. lol

The ONLY reason to have a vented bov is to be heard... might as well make it as loud as possible.

not on our cars. then its because we dont have a BOV any who and need one and its alot cheaper to just get a blow off valve and let it vent then buy the rest of the parts to make it recirculate. lol. i just dont like the RFL for some reason. id honestly rather spend similare money for the HKS the nicest BOV you can get at teh same price as the other guys or spend the extra 30 bucks or W/E it is and get tial, imo the best company out there for BOV's and wastegates. nothin wrong with your though nismo, i just felt like being fickle

Everything I've read says a BOV is pointless on a car with an auto transmission. Since you don't usually let off the throttle to shift an auto, the BOV never opens between shifts while accelerating. On some cars (mainly with Mass Air) a BOV vented to the atmosphere instead of recirculating actually hurts performance by causing a temporary rich condition because fuel has already been metered by the computer based on the air that was metered as it passed the throttle body.

Yeah... not much need for a bov on an auto, unless you're always on & off the throttle.
