Home-built CAI
I'm sure this has been around the forums a LOT but I just dont have the time to browse for hours
If anyone has done a home-built CAI for an 80-83 280zx NON turbo could they post up the specs, etc? I cant really justify spending hundreds (and HUNDREDS) of bucks for my daily driver. I'm sure I'll need a K&N filter but what size pipe and where do I mount it? Its not like I drive an old ford truck anymore where I had TONS of room under the hood, hehe.
Remember, this is a daily driver and WILL see rain, hehe.
What am I doing this to my DD for? Fuel economy and a lil bit o' HP (more hp=more fuel economy IMO as long as you aren't driving it like its stolen, hehe)

Just get a 3 inch pipe.. PVC works, Aluminum, Steel.. all the same. Buy a 3 inch inlet K&N cone filter. Take the stock air box out and put the pipe in front of the bumpers mouth. Not directly in front of it due to rain, but the pipe will have to be bent somewhat. Just use your good judgment (This is really nothing genius) With a little common sense it is a simple mod pretty much with any technique used.
