I am having engine trouble
I am 17 and I am trying to restore a 83 280zx turbo. when i got it the paint and
interior had been striped but the motor ran fairly good. The day after I got it I put
the back end up on jackstands to replace a bad axle shaft, the day after that the
car would not crank.that was a month ago and I still can not get it to run. I know
it is geting way to much gas but I don't know what else to do. I have changed
fuel regulator, the computer, and all 6 plugs but I haven't had time to check
the injectors. any tips

Is it turning over and trying to catch? Please explain in more detail. And maybe I can narrow it down for you. It could also be out of time. That happened to me a couple of weeks ago. My dizzy wasn't tight enough, and it turned on me. Anyway let me know some more detailed info, and I will try to help you.

it is turning over, it just wont crank. after you let it sit for a while and try to crank it, it will try to start but it dont. when you try to start it you can smell gas. i clamped one of the main fuel lines so i could take the fuel regulator off without gas going everywhere, my friend accidentally turned the key and it started up,ran for 4or5 seconds and died. we took the clamp off and it would not crank agin
i checked to see if it was getting a spark and it is getting a yellowish orange spark is that the way it is suposed to be? anyway when i changed the plugs and it still would not crank I took one out to see if I was getting gas to the plugs, and it was sooked with gas, so i think it is a fuel problem.
could oone of the injectors be stuck open? what else should i check?

you should have a bright blue spark if i am no mistaken.. change cap rotor and plugs and see what happens.. sounds like the spark isnt powerful enough so you start flooding the engine and when you clamped the line it leaned it out enough to get it to start but because its clamped it died.. so check your fuel, spark, and air, and compression.. those 4 things you need to run..

No, the spark should be bluish in color. You're getting a really weak spark if its yellowish orange. Those are the lowest colors on the heat index other than red, which means your spark is not very hot at all. I'd lay off the fuel system and focus on the ignition system. Check your coil, cap and wires to start.
