not much has been discussed on this.
1982-83 cars have the door lights and auto-dim feature. I had some problems with my lights once. The auto dimm module had gone bad.
That item is located behind the ECU. On the driver's side to the left of where you feet would be you'll find the ECU behind a plastic panel.
Remove the ECU and behind that there should be two small modules. One will say some thing like Auto-Dim on it. Replace it with a used one from a wrekcing yard or find someone online that has that item. Again, those are only found in the 1982-83 models.
also, the interrior light fuse is a common link. even if the fuse looks good, replace it and see if that helps.

Hello, nice to be here on Z forum.this is my #2 Z and it has 96k on it,i have checked the fuses,all seem to be ok,i will have a look at the other.the stock radio has been upgraded with a cd radio and all of that,is any of that wireing connected to any of that stuff??also the voice only sayes lights are on when the swich is off and lights on---thank you all very much for the info. Dennis
