lol, theres no difference, a turbo is a turbo. treadstone was the only ebay intercooler i ever heard as acceptable from a fellow Z car owner, but as far as i know no one on here uses one.

lol, there is a difference in how retarded the owners are, like some honda turbo guys, they might as well throw a "Tornado" on their car and call it a turbo LOL. hell, a guy I know that owns a turbo'ed Honda called it a "supercooler" LOL.

got any recommendations on brands then?

spearco really. after that find reputable shops that are getting cores and welding on their own end tanks thats a good method. and true there can be retarded owners but in a MASS community like there where all are in agreence its hard to believe every single one is that dumb.

I don't have any direct experience with Treadstone's i/c, but a friend of mine uses one with no problem on his 360+hp Cressida. The i/c on my Z is from Spearco, but Spearcos are pretty pricey. I think you will be fine using a Treadstone i/c.

anything by turbonetics should be pretty quality.

as for DSM guys, theres a 50/50 crowd out there, the one crowd here's about aa 1k hp dsm on pump gas a 1500+ DSM with no nitrous all boost and think, damn im going to buy this car cause its invincible. and then theres the crowd out there that is like twinturbo.net and are some of the smartest auto based group people i have ever read. you sir, are a racist, in an automobile fashion. im not a fan of blind ignorance. but i know your not a bad guy FDC so im not leaving that to any judgement. and just because you race a honda does not mean your retarded, most of the guys that take racing a honda seriously have pulled off some magnificent things and are pretty intelligent. DSMtalk is a pretty reputable site, dont know much about the rsx club one but they seemed to know what they were doing and nico is HUGE so they should be pretty reliable in their knowledge.

My post was meant as a humorous stab at the dsm guys, nothing serious, I know quite a few guys here in Utah with amazing DSM's, and quite a few people with awesome honda's, I am by no means racist against any brand of car, I just know that Nissans beat them all

Not to get into the way of your argument or anything, lol. I've seen the intercooler piping routed from the passenger side endtank to the Turbo and i've seen it routed to the TB. Which is more efficient?

Do you mean you've seen the piping going from the turbo, to the passenger side to the IC than out the driverside to the TB
and
The piping going from the turbo (staying on the driver side to the IC) than out the IC on the passenger side to the TB
?

I've seen (and would venture a guess that it's the best) the piping both inlet and outlet for the IC being on the driverside near the Turbo and the TB

The passenger side endtank going to the TB and the driver's side endtank going to the turbo.
OR
The passenger side endtank going to the turbo and the driver's side endtank going to the TB.

I've seen it both of those ways. Which is more efficient?

the shortest routing (by like 7 inches maybe) is turbo to driver side endtank then from passenger side endtank to TB. the true shortest way would to get the intercooler that has the entrance and exit ports on the same side. then you got to drill your *** off though to fit the piping through the same side.

I would think the passenger side endtank going to the turbo and the driver's side going to the throttle body. The pipe going to the passenger's side has to route through the engine bay next to the radiator and it is going to pick up heat. That plus the heat created from the turbo, in my opinion, I would like to dump into the intercooler before the throttle body. This is why I think it is more efficient, getting rid of more heat.

yeah, thermal dynamics don't work that way. it will be same IAT i believe routed either way. plus the radiator is not going to put out that much heat and the piping isnt going to soak heat since they aren't designed to do that. plus moving and with the air flow the pipe might recieve slightly higher temp air blowing over it but it really should not change anything. so i would go with the shorter piping routing and probably a little bit simpler. that or rock one of these

Do you have to weld the pipes together? It would probably be better that way but can't couplers do the same? I heard that some ppl have risk of the pipes blowing off though.

As long as the pipes have the rib (non-technical term) on the end, they won't blow off if they are tight. My first IC piping was made of exhaust pipe and sewer couplers... above 10psi one long section coupled together would always blow loose... I changed that pretty quick.
