Lightweight Flywheel?

I am looking for a good light-weight flywheel ('80 n/a) without spending a bloody fortune. Anybody got any ideas?

Rod.

Check www.ebaymotors.com I found one on there for $300 the other day. One thing you will have to keep in mind is that the turbo and 2+2 flywheels have a larger friction surface. Almost all the lightened flywheels I have found have the larger friction surface. It will still work on your car, you will just have to buy a clutch for the turbo or 2+2. My personal suggestion would be to go with the larger lightened flywheel and get a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch for the 280ZX 2+2 from MSA. Don't worry it will all fit on your car and will give you that much more "grab" epecially under heavy power loads.

For 349 I think you can get 1 from Motorsport, Mine works real good almost 1 year and no probs.

What differences in performance did you notice with the lightened flywheel?

I actually installed the flywheel & a centerforce Dual Friction clutch at the same time, the engine definetly revs faster and I did lower my 1/4 mile time by about half a second but I figure that is from it grabbing harder... But over all I like the setup.. I always figure if you have to go that far under the car replace all at once if possible..

Does that aftermarket clutch make it harder to press the clutch pedal?

Slightly harder but not so bad that its annoying. I kinda like a little more tension it the clutch pedal. I don't think you should worry about it though. I have a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and I love it.

Between the Centerforce II and the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, which do you guys think has stiffer pedal pressure?
