Low end power loss bluez

At about what rpms is the bog occurring at? Also, how is the bog? Is it a continuous misfire? A little explanation will help clear up things a bit. Below 3000, most Z's are slow due to the low compression they run compared to say a Honda that runs 9:1 and higher depending on trim. My car's 7.4:1 makes it feel extremely slow off boost and below 2600 revs. If I were to accelerate with out boost and prespool, it'd take me about 20 seconds to hit 50 mph! Saves a lot of gas though as I was able to pull 22 mpg with my p.o.s. a/t. Normally only pull about 17-19 mpg.

lots of questions
Yes my z is N/a and it doesnt feel jerkey or like a studder like misfireing its just slow to wind out it takes forever to get up to 3000 after that its alot faster but anything lower than 3k and it feels like im towing a boat . Speaking of heavy objects the cars curb weight is like 3300 or somthing whats the deal there? anyone got anytips on weight reduction? o and one more thing where is a good place to get a replacement front end i think the stock bumper is hideous. hmmm.. i think thats all for now thanks everyone!

The car might just have low compression on all cylinders and not have much torque. And 3300 is the max payload. A 280ZX weighs about 2800 and the 2+2 2980.
The 240Z guys like to say all ZX's weight 3000+ lbs! According to nissan's information (which sounds strange) a 280Z weighs about 40 lbs more than a 280zx. Probably comparing 1978 to 1979 with no power options.

I havnt checked for myself yet but i have been told that my car has dished pistons... would replacing them be hard ? and also where could i get better pistons? on the weight subject wouldnt that mean that the car can only hold about 500lbs ? cause i weigh about 210 and say my friend cris that weighs in around 250 comes for a ride with me wouldnt we be damn near maxing out the car? or am i wrong about the terminology?[

I hate to break it to you, but it sounds like your car is running the way it's supposed to. From the original Car and Driver road tests, the best 0-60 time they could muster was around 11 seconds, and they ran the quarter mile in 18 seconds flat. If you're looking to shave weight, ditch the power steering, cruise control, AC, and the back seat. The two front seats weigh a lot, and they could be replaced with lightweight plastic buckets. Also, you can ditch the spare tire and tool bag to save a few pounds.
What kind of a rear end do you have? there are two available: R200 and the R180. If you have the R180, then you have 3.34 gears and if you have the R200, then the gear ratio is around 3.70. Later model 2 seater Z's came with R200 rear ends with 3.90 gears. If you do have the R180, then that is a big part of your problem.
Have you adjusted the Valves on that thing yet? They should be done every 30,000 miles or so. Anyways, my Z is as slow as snot, and I've just come to accept it until I get the cash and an extra car so I can drop a small block chevy into that thing.
