I am about to buy a 81 turbo car thats wreaked and drop the motor in to my 79 2 +2 l28e what do i need to know befor i do this do i need to change the brain or some thing EX {or will it all just bolt up and plugin :rockon: }

 

You need the complete wiring harness from the turbo and the ECU.

You'll have to get a good wiring diagram for both cars to figure out which wire will need to be connected between the different harnesses.

Good luck and have fun. Don't expect to complete this transformation in a weekend.

You' can get the motor installed but 'untangling' the wiring could take some time.

You should replace ANY connections that are discolored or corroded or you'll never trace down the electrical problems that are guaranteed to crop up on these 23 and 25 year old cars.

 

Where is the ecu on the tubro car and are they in the same place ? also where can i get the wireing Diagrams from... i am new so bare with me what is the ECU ?

 

same spot as the NA ....ECU = Engine Control Unit, as to my knowledge.

well your computer that runs everything with fuel injection, spark, air whatever....

diagrams you can find just do a search on hybrids.org

 

Thanks skully iam going to pick that car up soon mabe by the frist of the year .$250 souldnt be a big deal....Its xmas time and sainta is going to bring me a turbo MOTOR for old blue bird... My friend is going to help me pull it and then pull the old L28E putting it in and bolting it up shouldnt be TO hard butt if i run in to trouble i will POST for HELP
