try getting a new cable, yours might be stripped.

Most likely it's your cable. The ZX has a two piece cable. The first piece goes from the tranny to the firewall in the engine bay. The second piece goes from the firewall inside the cabin behind the dash to the back of the speedo.

You do NOT need to remove the dash to get to the cluster.

Yeah, double check the speedo cable, the one by the firewall is a little towards the driver's side of the brake pedal if you're on your back and looking up. It might need to be tightened. Mine was stuck at 45 mph once and made a weird clicking sound while driving when it was loose.

Hey man I have seen them go for not more than $75 or so. Not bad, considering they are sought after. And only came in the '79 ZX's! By the way, I have 2 of them. One for each of my Z's

Hey veryone I just bought 130MPH speedo like a week and a half ago and the trip wont reset and neither will the trip on my three 80MPH. Is it possible to take it somewhere and get the trip fixed or do I just havew to live with it being broken?
