I got a 82 280zx turbo My daly driver yesturday it starter to detonate because my air fuel ratio guage reads lean after i start
boostin 2 pounds it pops!!
Any of you guys had this problem before I got a new O2 sensor but i guess that wasnt it maybe fuel pressure regulator?
Today I started it again and it was fine but later on it went back
to running lean I dont Know What it can be Any help

Detonation is caused when the center of the piston creates hot spots and thus makes the fuel fire before the spark plug fires..


In short with retard the timing or use high octane fuel.
