Need HELP with Smelly Exhaust
82 ZX Turbo. New Catalytic Converter. Car won't rev past 2500 RPM without bogging down terribly. Let off gas a little, engine revs a little more and bogs down again, do it again, it does it again. After letting engine go back to idle, smell of Sulfur in the engine compartment. What's the most likely cause?

The answer
First off, you should have read the post more clearly. It says "New Catalytic Converter"...anyway, the answer to the problem was I had inadvertantly knocked off the vacuum line just behind the distributor, right over the AC compresor. It was running all kinds of wierd. Anyway, after replacing it's brittle ***, the car runs fine and the smell went away. Go figure...it's almost ALWAYS something stupid...

Like you've never made a mistake? I learned to read between the lines a long time ago, but sometimes its hard to read along the lines...heheh, "Vacuum Lines" that is. Anyway, it's fixed and that's that. Now if I could only get the car past 70 mph without leaning out and starving for fuel. Maybe that's why the previous owner had the fuel pump wired directly to the relay? Ya think? Ahh, intercoolers, don't ya just love'em.?
