I just added a BOV to my paperweight collection in my room. The fender mirrors I own have never been installed so I don't know how they work. I'm thinking I might try to get another pair for my 280ZX.

Guys, this next week is the start of my project. I took vacation time to get things rolling. Thursday morning, Nov 10th out comes the complete turbo engine from the parts car in my yard.
Ya, I'll be getting pics and making some updates each evening. Lots to do. Since my tranny is basically toast, I'm going to just do the whole engine/tranny swap together.

So for now, stock turbo setup. BOV on J-pipe, 2.5" downpipe and exhaust, K&N filter. Everything else stock for a while. Also have wicked stiff suspension to install, sound system, reverse glow gauges, CRX seats, manual heater controls... yikes!

If you can afford it, this is the ONLY way to work on your Z!

I'm getting the XL-9X next year. I'll never work on a car on the ground again...

You just need to make sure your garage has the ceiling clearance.

With my garage door rolled up, mine is 112" from the ground. I'm only 1" short, but if I set the posts far enough back so they don't interfere with the garage door, I'll be able to open the garage door with a car up on the rack!

^ Awesome. Thanks for posting that lww, I've been shopping around for lifts to get a feel for the budgeting when I start up my shop. Wouldn't mind having such a nice lift, for so cheap.

Ya I think I'll be needing some luck. I just hope I don't have some stupid little hangup that eats away 2 days of time. I'm hoping the car will be driving by the end of Novemeber. Seems reasonable for a 'stock' engine swap.

No, that EVO beat me cuz it's EVOL (evil)! My only solice against the current generation AWD Rice Rockets is that in 25 years, nobody's gonna give a flying frog about a 2005 EVO or WRX.
