New Clutch

hello all its been a while since I have posted here and yet again i have another question this time regarding clutchs. they local shop says i should get a jebber(or jobber sumthin like that) for about 600 bucks. I though i could instead get a centerforce clutch from the summit racing cataloge (im sure u guys saw it) but i was told to make sure it would fit and if i would need a new flywheel to go with it. right now im converting the na to turbo if you remember so what should i do? get the expensive jebber (i hope not!) or get the centerforce (about 300???) and would i need a flywheel.

by the way the flywheel i got right now has a chip in one of the teeth!!! should i bother replace it (i no it only means it wont start if its on the same spot)
i just saw this should i shoot for this one? Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch, 82-86 ZX Turbo, for 300$ from MSA

any help is appreciated as you can tell when it comes to clutches im not super educated, thanks in advance

Steven

I've never heard of a jebber or a jobber clutch... have you searched the internet about it? ( Google can be your best friend if you let it ) A centerforce clutch is good... but overkill unless you are going to be doing some heavy driving... like drifting, burning your tires, rev'ing then dropping the clutch, shiz like that. A stock Nissan one will do fine on a mostly stock setup. Just make sure you have the turbo 240mm flywheel.

And no... you don't need a new flywheel if you need a new clutch, unless the surface is cracked or warped. The teeth on the edge are for the starter.

Did you get a Haynes Manual yet?

Also what I have learned on here, is don't use the Centerforce throwout bearing. I have been told it is junk made in China, or something like that. As for the Centerforce, I think it rocks, no slip, and shifts really smooth. I will vouch for that, compared to the stock clutch. Of course I have a n/a, so I don't know the difference between them. I know in about a year, I will start doing my Turbo swap. Anyway good luck on your swap, and keep us updated bro'.
