so i was looking at upgrading my oil pump and i see the kameari one at msa going for 142.95 and rated for 85.3 psi. I found this other one though which is rated for 90psi and only 99.79 bucks.

on this site it says they have oil pump springs for 5.99. So question is, (even though probably a dumb one) is it important to get these springs as well?

 

those other pumps increase volume and pressure. volume is important to help cooling the parts (ie turbo), pressure just gets it there. for instance, if you have an external cooler, then pressure is required. it needs to get oil further away at the same volume.

 

my machinist got me a cast iron turbo one and its pressure reads really high. no 10psi at idle for me lol

 

its just that i'm not sure i remember where these springs are suppose to go i dont remember seeing them when i took out the oil pump on my old engine... oh boy

 

Remove big bolt... discover spring.

 

aaaah... this whole time i thought the big bolt was there to look cool! lol thanks nismopick
