For the most part, I've heard nothing but good things about RRFPR's for our motors. Supposedly they really help out a lot at the fuel-starved higher rpms. But as with many mods, how much power it adds will depend on everything else on the car.

RRFPR are the cheapest, easiest form of engine management one can buy. Sure, it's probably not adequate on your 600HP, high revving small displacement engine(not as a replacement for electonic EM anyways). But for bang for the buck, those are a great mod to make. It all goes back to quality though. So, you doing right in getting someones word for it first. Oh, and don't look at it so much as adding HP, but more so as ALLOWING HP.

I'm interested in this mod too. I too have a RRFPR, but I think it might be for a NA 280ZX. Is there a difference in the two regs? It's a unit from MSA.

MSA specifies a different part number for the NA and turbo models. As far as wether or not it will work, call MSA and ask em. Or you can wait and see if anyone here has tried it.

It increases the pressure in your fuel lines. Theoretically, with more pressure, you can run your injectors at a lower duty cycle and still get the same amount of fuel through them in a shorter period of time.

It's typically used to compensate for injectors with inadequate flow rates and is generally used in boosted applications.

I'm not sure it would even be necessary on an NA application unless it were heavily modified. The limiting factor on NA applications is the intake manifold not the stock injectors until you reach a significant level of modification.

this is a great mod .....how ever it would be nice to have a cam with it.... if you are have problems with over fueling or under fueling this is the mod to get ....IF you get this mod then you will really want some more spark to go with it .......what is the point in adding more fuel if you cant burn it up ....this is what i seem to be running into ....i can feel my motor want to take more it just doesnt want to burn it all up ....ajust your valve lash to 2mm more then they are now.... then see how it feels ...it should pull alot more..more than you will get from smoothing out the fuel delivery with a regulator ...just my take on it .....
