SHADY: Z31 ecu for na 280zx info

One of the guys on Hybridz is apparently putting together a Z31 ECU / Z32 MAF setup for his NA 280ZX. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=121631

dah... nevermind... I read through it more & it seems the kid doesn't know what he's doing. But something useful might come from that thread.

I hope he can get it figured out. It seems like he's going to run into a snag by refusing to use the turbo distributor. I don't think he's going to get away with not running it. I'm pretty positive that's why his idle is so poor. Well maybe that and his timing might be off or something.

Haha yeah, turbo all the way! Just kidding. If that guy wants to use a Z32 maf, he's going to have to get rid of 2 resistors and I think one other thing on the circuit board. Otherwise he'll be limited to 25mph or 2000rpm. Not much fun unless you want to race some Segways or something.

Shady, I remember you telling me you needed a brake switch or whatever the heck it's called that's under the dash. Well, I went to the salvage yard today and I spotted one 79 and one 80 they both have the same setup. 6 pin with 1 extra vs. the 8 pin outlet like my 82. Anyways, I picked up one for you man! I still gotta figure out where the heck that long return spring mounts on the m/t pedal setup... I forgot to bring water so I was dehydrating and left early before I could take a look. I did score some black interior trim though.

oh ya! thanks for the reminder. ECU (with plugs), crank angle wheel, and MAS (with plugs) is what you need. It'll probably run you only $40 US for all that... maybe less. I can pick it up and let you know. Week days are tough due to how far from work the yard is. Today I'm about to go see my daughter so I wont' be able to make it down there. ...hoping for Saturday.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if the 1981 turbo (280ZX) distributor with no chopper wheel inside will work for a Z31 setup or even a 1982/83 changeover? Can you just put a CAS in there? If I find one, I'll pick it up.
