stock comp with bpus
Well i was wondering if you had upgraded injectors and fuel pump can the stock computer take it? I already have these parts for my build (got them for a very very very cheap price). MY concern is that the stock turbo ecu wont be able to handle it?? I will just be running stock boost for now but i want to know if having upgraded injectors, fuel pump, and posibble turbo, if my ecu will be able to handle it all? Or is megasquirt my only option?

READ IT.
Stock 280zx & turbo injectors can handle a lot more than what they do stock. But putting in bigger injectors won't solve any problems... just cause problems.

I found info on this a while back. After a lot of reading on what people have done to tune their turbo L28 using the stock ECU, basically the ECU is too limited in its calculations (if you can even call it that) to make proper use of larger flow injectors. The fuel pump will be fine. Excess fuel returned by the fuel pressure regulator will just go back into the tank.
As for injectors, don't bother. You can get more high end power but you'll be running rich at idle and off boost.
My suggestion, and this is what I plan to do for now, is to run stock injectors but upgrade the fuel pump and more importantly the fuel pressure regulator with a rissing rate FPR.

EDIT
P.S. Take it easy on 86ZMan... he's new to all this stuff and he asks good questions. He's always thankful for good answers too. He spends a lot of time in "Our" section because for one, there is a lot of knowledge here, two, there's a couple people in the Z31 section that are just outright rude an impolite. I think it's pretty awesome that people with other Types of Z's are asking and posting in our little part of the forum... show's that we know our stuff.

Maybe also because the 280zx forums is where it's at. And I have no problem with 86zman, he seems to be a good kid. And who knows, if he spends enough time here in our 280zx world. Maybe he will get a 280zx, in the near future. Just a cool thought anyway, one big happy family!
