supercharger mount finished pic

Ill post some more pics with a real cam, but tonight it was finished and HAD to share (welding and some paint)

Now all i need it finish my m3 ITB's and feed the supercharger with my turbo.
I figured i can run a pip over the valve cover from the turbo to the SC with no clearance issues to the hood from trail fits

now wait for the pulleys to arrive in the container from my last CA trip to mock up some belts etc ..

i was thinking about doing such a setup. i noticed you still using vbelt. are you worried that it might slip? serpentine belts are the way to go. they have one for the damper but its 450ish

he could still run serpintine on that supercharger alone, the v belt for the alt. and water pump wont slip, he might have the S/C mounted a little more forward so he can utilize one of the other open slots on the damper

i will only go serpentine on the sc, and it is mounted so it can utilize the slot the PS pump uses, that pulley will go, and a serpentine one of the original car will be mounted there.

I will run it like the old lancia delta s4 group B rally car. the turbo will feed the sc, the sc will go trough an intercooler into the plenum.

At higher RPM or better pressure it will open the bypass

thanks for the compliments some better pics of todays progress
The engine is a mock up block btw

the mount looks randomly supported, and in a way it is .. but that is because i need to keep my plugs accessible, and this way i can remove them all with the charger mounted

and the beast awaiting it

and i need to change the rear cross member i have the five lugs ready to bolt in .. but im working on the cage first

Man, loving the progress on the car. I also like the way your car sits, very nice. What's the front end by?

That will definitely eliminate any turbo lag problem.

What are the specs of the turbo you plan to use?

At what psi are you planning to activate the bypass on the supercharger?

What size is that supercharger?! [edit]Never mind, I just read your signature line...[/edit] M90!!

I have considered doing the same thing but with a centrifugal supercharger. Smaller package and easier to engineer the install, but it wouldn't have the potential that monster set of screws has!

90CFM per stroke

anyhow i bought my turbo BEFORE i picked up this stupid plan..

It is a T3/$ with an pro rally wrx exhaust side made to eliminate lag.. ill mount it
it has a 70 AR compressor and a special flowing exhaust housing that is a 48 AR
but it might be to small to keep up with the supercharger + it might not benefit the characteristics of the engine im building now .. ( i have my 2+2 that would be happy to receive the t4 )

well only one way to see what happens right.. According to my turbo builder this should outflow the chargers needs if my goal is not higher that 27 psi .. the map sensor of my MsS is only good to 20 so.. that is my first limit.

In the case it tends to be to small ill go with a holset or something similar and BIG
But the t3/4 will be good enough to work out bugs .

ill take that turbo off your hands any day, and that map sensor is easily upgradable to a 4 bar one, as im sure you already know. just look for the ugrade on diyautotune.com

yeah i know, but lets first make sure my pistons stay in one piece and shaped like they should be up to 20 psi then i have enough time to think bigger!

So what would guys think, cool the turbo stage down with a water cooler or just forget about that stage for now?

it seems small enough to fit over the valve cover ( between the turbo side and the sc side) and clear the hood.. + i have a 4' cowl sitting for the case it would not fit.
To install I would just need a 90 degree connection on one side and two 45 elbows on the other .

I wonder if one IC, placed between the SC and the Turbo would cool it back enough.
If not i have to dig for my engine under all that crap in the future LOL

I don't want methanol ( jet) as you can run out of it fairly easily. so that would be more a drag race solution , not road race/track/autpx what my car will be leaning to.

run your car on propane, not gas, that stuff has super high octane, and will last a whole race, just use forklift cylinders. there is a guy with a prelude (older) at the track, he runs 25psi with propane, and makes wicked power.

what???? i thought proprane was a diesel thing. methanol injection is cary i think, pump fails or you run out your motor can blow in your face.... i would either get a really good intercooler after both of them with a sprayer, or do some sort of intercooler between and then an after cooler after the s/c

spraying is overkilling, and another solution that will run out, propane here is illegal in road cars, as they see it as trying to dodge tax ( long story)
So il start with one IC and than might ad a pipe cooler between the turbo and the sc when things get to hot www.lindseyracing.com

its not injection snow, the whole system is propane, you get rid of your gas tank completely

The bottleneck would be the mixers.

I suggest one from a ford 460 propane truck engine application if you need enough flow.

As far as I know, propane is not legal for street use, in Arizona at least. He's in Europe though so things could be far different.
