if its anything like a s30 box, just find an older 81-83 fuse box at the junkyard un plug it, then plug it into your car. but im not 100% sure, my 81 already had blade fuses and amazingly all the s30's i have worked on in my part of the word had already been converted.

From my experience with these cars. Mainly 280zx's The '79-'81's had the glass fuses. And the '82-'83's, had the blade type. That is what my Z's have been stock. I am sure you could switch out the fuseboxes. I don't see why not. Maybe look at the wiring diagrams, and such. And see if they are a close match or not. I never thought to convert my '81's over to the blade type. Because it didn't bother me that much. To each his own though. But I am sure it would work. Give it a shot, and let us know.

^^^ x2 on that.

Plus... it'd be a whole lot more work than it's worth. You'd prolly have to cut all the wires & slice them in... I don't think a they are just interchangeable. And there's nothing wrong w/ glass fuses... outdated, but they still work.

I could understand if the glass fuses were hard to get a hold of, but the auto parts stores all have them. It's really not a big deal.

It will be a lot of soldering to do it right. I had to re wire my glass fuses box because the PO or somebody had messed with it. I ended up getting another glass fuses box and stealing the terminals out of it to make mine complete. Havent had a problem since. There is no advantage to blade fuses as far as corrosion goes. the terminals are hidden away and trap moisture even worse. Just disconnect your battery, remove all the fuses, mindint where they go, brush all the contacts and spray down with terminal cleaner. bend all the tabs a little closer together and replace all the fuses with new. You should be good for another two decades or so.
