Turbo Vac lines

When I bought the car most of the turbo was taken a part so, I don't know where I need to connect these vac lines. I looked at the FSM and it is kinda hard to tell.



Can someone tell me which vac lines need to go where? These two, I think one goes the the wastegate actuator and the other is for the boost gauge???

I don't know which is which.

Stock; Intake side and Exhaust side both run into a T fitting and then to the wastegate actuator.

To hook up a boost controller, you can block off the exhaust nipple, run the hose from the intake side of the turbo to your controller then back out to the wastegate.

Anyone know why they use two vac lines to supply the wastegate? More accurate possibly? Faster engagement of wg? Are there any drawbacks to capping off that top nipple?

Let me know if i hooked these up right.


Where does this heat shield go?





Does this ground line go underneath or on top of the J pipe bracket seen here or does it really matter?



Hate to bother you guys but since I didn't take it off . . . . kinda don't know where is needs to go.

Yep, that's how the hose should be connected. And the stock location for that ground wire is that 10mm bolt just to the left of the j-pipe bracket, where the other ground is.

that heathsield goes on the manifold. It goes on the front, but more towards the back. It's just for the wiring to the O2 sensor.

Yep. There's 3 10mm bolts in a row right there, you can use any of them for grounds. Just make sure there is a clean connection.
