Anyone know if the turbo valve cover can replace a regular valve cover.

hehe... but seriously, in Zsport mag they built up a light weight 240Z with a turbo L28. They figured out the NA valve cover is 1 pound lighter than the trubo valve cover so they used the NA one. So in a sense, the turbo valve cover slows your car down! So does eating a supersized combo #2 while in the Z.

Well if its gonna be heavier then forget it. I was just wondering if it could fit cause i found a 82 turbo 280zx in the junk yard with the valve cover and turbo still attached to it. But im still trying to find out my prob to my car still so i might just go back for more parts and admire the turbo again.

Why is the NA one lighter? I thought the designs were the same except for the "Turbo" lettering. It just seems odd that the word "Turbo" should weigh more than whatever the NA one has written on there.

Odd, yes. But they did extensive research.

The NISSAN letters themselves are bold and tall, and the TURBO letters are X-box huge! Plus there is that Wall of China border around it all. The non-turbo has very shallow and thin lettering with only some thin lines going accross. Maybe the black powdercoating is heavy on the turbo.

I think I've read somewhere the valve covers had different baffling on the inside and that was the reason they were different weights, but it's most likely misinfo just floating around.
