Tach goes to about 4000 and then falls back to zero. Also, the clock flatout doesnt work. Any common problems? Yes i know i should search the forum and not ask in a thread, but i already did that and am having trouble finding my situation. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Dont be that guy that just says read the forum haha.

For the tach, have you checked the wiring to the coil? The negative blue lead goes direct to the tach... bad connection, no workie. Also, the coil itself, the ignitor, or ecu could be at fault. Does the car stutter at high rpms?
As for the clock, is it digital or analog? Have you checked the fuses?

I dont have the car yet, but planning on buying it. I'm researching and asking questions about the problems it has before I buy it. It's an analog clock next to volt gauge on dash, (I'm agreeing with fuse problem for that) Direct quote from seller "the tach goes to 4g then drops, never could figure it out" I dont think its the coil or else it wouldnt even be able to reach 4000 right? (not to sure what you mean by ignitor) I wouldnt know about the ECU having a problem, because to my knowledge it still runs and drives so it cant be a huge ECU problem. I was just wondering if there were any common defects with the tach where it would do that. haha something not working at all is easier to fix than something thats partially working.
