1981 Turbo Rear Lower Body Panel

Can anyone help me find the lower rear body panel for a 1981 280ZXT? Zcarparts lists this panel in their catalog but say they don't stock it anymore. Has anyone had any luck getting this panel or does anyone have one they would be willing to sell? I need to finish my Z project!!!

Are you talking about the panel that goes under/behind the bumper and actually welds to the body?

If you have access to a sheet steel breaker box and you were planning to weld it on yourself, you could just make a new one.

The only other place I can think to get one would be from:

Yes, I am speaking of the piece that goes behind/under the bumper and welds to the car. It ties the bottom of the quarter panels together and without it, it seems like my quarters are going to have a lot of deflection on them near the bottom. I believe I have tried blackdragonauto without any luck.

a battery operated sawzall and a trip to the junkyard Other than that you can put a wanted in the classifieds. Hybridz.org has a high response rate in their wanted section. I've placed several want ads over there and have always gotten several responses. I'd imagine there has to be someone willing to cut that piece off of a parts car.

A flat piece of steel will fix that portion and eliminate the unnessisary vent holes in the original piece. Or, all 1982-83 NA and turbo 280ZX's have the exhaust exit on the left side so they would fit your car. I have a rear section from a couple 1983 Z's. I'll have to see if they're solid enough though.

You get to the classifieds from the main home page: HybridZ On the right side is the link to the classifieds. From there see the attached pic for the link to post.

Bleach, Can you send me some pics of what you have? I'd be very interested in buying these from you if they are solid.

I checked them both and they are both bad. One is rusted out and the other is smashed pretty hard. These cars were not always driving on the street!
