1982 Nissan/Datsun 280ZX Computer Code Reader or Scanner

Hi. Recently I bought an orange mist base 1982 Nissan/Datsun 280ZX. I want to know if it is in the market a computer code reader or scanner to retrieve computer trouble codes. If not, how codes from 280ZX computer can be obtained?

Thanks in advance.

There are two little LED's on the side of the ECU, I forget how to actually check them but google is still up and running.

Welcome to ZDriver!

There are no "trouble codes" for the 280zx... the ecu does not store codes, nor does it have it's own diagnostic process / sequence (remember... this car was designed in the 70's). The only diagnostic process is to use a Kent Moore EFI / ECCS analyzer (uber rare / expensive) to test all the sensors. Pretty pointless since you can do all the tests manually w/ a DMM (digital multi-meter) by following the FSM / Haynes manual.

If you really wanna blow a couple bills, you could see if this guy still has his analyzer for sale: https://www.zdriver.com/forums/showt...highlight=eccs

It's pretty sick, but the only real purpose of owning one would be to prove yourself as an absolute Datsun junkie.
