1983 280zx turbo
Hey guys I'm new to the site and I bought a 280zxt sometime ago but just now getting time to work on it. So here's what I've done/need ideas on. The car has been in a barn for years and the guy I got it off of put a new ecu in before he parked it. The car only has 48,597 miles on her and she does have rust but the floor pans and frame rails are in great shape (I live in ohio)
Fuel tank was trashed so I dropped a fuel cell in and got a new fuel pump, I've also gone through and replaced every vacum hose that was in the engine compartment and put new oil in she cranks over but when she starts the idle it rough and she will die within a minute, also giving it gas will immediately cause her to die.
So I ohm tested the injectors and got a range of 2.6 to 3.4 which from what I've read this is not good also I have sensors that aren't plugged in to anything I know I need new connectors for the injectors and if I do need new injectors what would yall suggest? ( I'll post pictures tonight). So that's it for now any advice will be awesome
And thanks for reading,
Frenchie

Welcome to ZDriver!
Check out XenonS130 - S130 Reference and download a freebie factory service manual (FSM) and the other cool docs available to you there. Your FSM has a load of inspection and troubleshooting pages which are easy to follow and can help you get that great Z back on the road. The fiches can help you locate OEM parts numbers which aftermarket sellers find useful.
Your choices for replacement parts are pretty simple: OEM (if available), aftermarket new - and recycled (used). For OEM you need to check your local Nissan dealership or (sometimes) web sites like Courtesy Nissan in Texas. For an '83, true OEM parts are gonna be limited.
Aftermarket: Search engines are the way to find them. Be specific about the make, model, year, part. It's amazing the variety of parts out there. Check return policies and warranties before you buy. Aftermarket parts don't always fit.
Recycled: My favorite because cheapest of all and they are typically still-working OEM parts. Go to http://www.car-part.com/ and enter your search data, sort the search results by distance from your zip code. If you call the sellers and find a salvaged Z within driving distance, you just struck gold. Drive there with a yellow marker, check-mark every part you want and harvest them for cheap. Recyclers have kept three cars on the road for me. Can't do without them.
So new or recycled fuel injection parts for your '83 ought to be easy to find. Use your FSM to compare your current performance to the original.
Please post some fotos of that Z for us!
Thanks and welcome again.
