1983 280zxt checked everything still no spark
so i had a hard start issue about a month ago. and since then have replaced cas, coil twice. done the hei igniter conversion , changed ignition switch and still no spark. coil gets 12 v but no spark. have fuel and afm is working. 0.04 volts from yellow igniter wire . dont know if thats correct v range or not. new plugs wires cap and rotor. ecu has green light on except when turning over ignition it turns off until i turn key off and then back on ,then it relights until trying to start again. i am at my wits end with this car. i was excited to have my very own z and this happens. any help will be much apreciated.

If the ecu is getting power and there's no power (pulse) on the yellow coil wire, you have a dead ecu. I have a spare dead turbo ecu that does the exact same thing. Somebody on the 280ZX Driver FB group mentioned that it's the "zero-ohm link / resistor" in the ecu, and they fixed this problem by replacing that resistor. I've never researched it, but that's a start for you.
And, if you need to replace the ecu, now is a perfect time to do the Z31T ecu / maf upgrade (I have a helpful zip file of info, and I have most of the needed parts).
