1983 won't start

Hey all! thanks for the previous help. My 1983 280 zx won't start. I put an multimeter to check the volts from the battery, its good. when i try and start the car(push button starter) the volts drop on the reader, which makes me think the alternator is going. Shouldn't the car start with the battery power?

Makes me think its a fuel or spark issue. Bought the car a month ago and the motor (2nd) and tranny are strong. I just started working so i can get some tools and get her back on the road.

Any recommendations to start. I'm thinking check fuel pump, fuel filter, than the spark components?

Thanks Sean

So... is fuel getting to all cylinders? Are spark plugs in proper order and spark getting to all cylinders? Tested compression?
