2.5k ohm resistor?

I've seen in the Haynes for the 280ZX and at points in the FSM for the Z31, for testing things like throttle position sensor, adjusting CO%, etc. They show for example to unplug the CHTS and put a 2.5k ohm resistor onto the connector so it's feeding the ECU a constant signal to adjust the idle mixture by. What are these called, and can I get them at the auto parts store? Would I just look for a resistor?

it's called a 2.5K ohm resistor at radio shack. they usually have a huge wall of them. should be less then a dollar if you can get just one

if they don't have just one of that exact number. Put 'em in series! Yay for physics

What do you mean by put them in a series? Like you'd connect a lower value resistor to another resistor, then to the harness to make 2.5k ohms?

Exactly.

Hard to see but there are two in series there. Most likely the resistors you find at Radio Shack will look very similar.

Resistors in series just add together.
1.5K (ohms) + 1k (ohms) = 2.5K (ohms)
