the mtx jackhammers are way over rated, there way to heavy, take way to much power. and dont put out nearly the SPL you would think they would. ontop of that there way to much. you could get a single 15" L7 in the right box to be wayy louder then them. but thats just my oppenion. i still wanna see, no idea how you got those beast in there. pictures!!!

these are not the stupid crazy three hundred pound jackhammaers that your thinkiing of, sorry to disapoint lol this is mtx audios line of subs, i got two 12 in subs. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/MTX-J...oductDetail.do

my buddy had an l7 in his jimmy, it hit mid 145 db, and not the norm *** saying yeah my sony with 300 watts peak hit 150 db lmao, (we blew the lid straight off the box breaking screws)actual true readings, great sound, these two in my z with 400 rms each hit probably around mid 130's in my car, sitting in the driveway it rattles the pan sitting on the stove at (IM GUESSING) around 40 to 50 htz

by the way my guess on my spl is at the back(not where its suppose to be)

oh, i dont know much about MTX, i know there new 9500 sub is badass. only one person in america has blown one yet and he connected 3000RMS watts to each voice coil. there sposed to be unblowable. i just sold my system to buy my car. it was a L5 15" in a 3.88cf slot ported box @ 25 HZ. hitting im guessing around 140 or so with 150 watts to each coil via two amps. i never got to see the sub at full patential tho but ill swear by it. if you want SPL kicker is the way to go! anyways back on subject i didnt know MTX had a different jack hammer sub. i know they have the sledge hammer series.

only 400rms? so its like 800 peak? idk kinda weak sauce.... a single audiobahn 12inch was good in my Z32 1400 peak 800rms. rock my socks with a vented and LARGE sub enclosure.

yea, thats why i say mtx jackhammers are over rated. and "max" or "peak" power doesn't mean anything, the only reason they have that on stuff is its a big sign saying "buy mee" "buuyyy meeee" for un-knowledgeable car audio people. so a bunch of people get suckered in.

technichly i got 400 and change on one amp and the other one is pretty much 500 rms. so about 4 to 5, lol cant remember what i made the box at cubes and almost 1000 watts rms sealed box, thouight about making slot ported and tuning to about 40 hurts (hz) but probably never will

mich u will get a kick outta this, was in walmart awhile back to pick up .45 auto ammo, while passing the car section i overheard 2 workers talking about how good the two subs they have in there sound, one guy says to the other they both take XX watts(cant remeber but it was peak) other guy asks whats the difference then, he says one is 4 O-H-M's the other is 8 O-H-M's spells it out and everything with a confused look on his face

^^^these are the ppl u sell peak power to, i lose alot of respect for companys that advertise peak power.

i agree with u on the mtx 9500's heard it once sounds reallllllllly good, my buddy b4 his L7 was using two 10'' 7500's great sound but we finally fried them. very familar with the dissapointing smell of voicecoil. iv sacraficed many subs to the audio gods this way

MTX and Kicker from my experence are crap, cheaply made with max wattage ratings that are nuts but peak are weak and they seem to tear them selves to shreds.

spend some cash on a decent sub.

custom lights. with some basic mech knowledge they are very easy to fabricate. the led lights that i liked were at autozone, lol each store only stocks one so i had to go to four different stores, but thats becuz i didnt want to order them i wanted them that day. message me if your interested and i would be more then willing to help you with them

on the other hand if your just asking where i got the led's then u can find those with a rubber gromet at about any trailers supply they even have a 40 led tail light(mine are about 10)

how do you know the sub wasnt halfway burnt out when you got it?
dont judge a company by ONE product they make. ontop of that, if you're using a L5 or L7 for SQ then what do you expect?? im just using that as an example that they make there subs for special purposes. i havent found one kicker product that wont handle or put out more then what it says it will. and yea, some of them will get holes knocked into them from the SPL but what do you expect when you're up at 180DB? incase you didnt know a rocket launches at 182 DB. thats pretty impressive if you ask me. MTX and kicker is at the top, along with DD and others and they all make a very good line up. kicker, mtx and the other top brands dont make head units because they specialize in one feild. which is speakers/subwoofer. if they build crap they would be making everything from speakers to head units. and spreading out there money that way its quanity over quality. like i said tho, dont judge one brand from one product. i had a road master HU (radio) and it fried within a week because it was junk. and i invested in a VR3(made by roadmaster also) and i have now had it going on 4 years, really nice can play USB, SD, MP3, WMA, etc etc. and i have never had a better head unit then this one.

Edit: i also bought this VR3 head unit from walmart.
altho some brands have a stock made specifically made cheap for walmart. you're even starting to see infinity, visonik, etc in them.

heard of stetsom mich? i think its euro oriented but my buddy orderd one and fried it in 5 minutes got it replaced and beat the hell outta it and still kicking. ABOUT 6000 WATTS RMS AT 1 OHM, i vote that jvc makes TERRIBLE head units, fried the internal amp on three of them,

btw u can run a sub at its recomended rms and if the amp is clipping real bad ur sub just wont last long,

lol, like i said alot of subs wont even handle what they say they will. i had 3 12" sony explodes pushing 150 to each when they say 350 i think to each? well needless to say if i pushed them any harder they would have ripped the surround and the coil would have popped out! those things had some travel to them tho.
and no i've never heard of them.
and i've never used a JVC head unit.
in my oppenion JVC should stay in the house.
i had some JVC 12"s in the house.
best loudest cleaning subs i've ever heard.
until i sold them.
i wanna get my hands on some of the new JBL stuff.
i KNOW they make good stuff.
