I have found a lot of posts on what seats that will fit the 280Z, but do 280Z seats direct fit into a 280ZX , will they fit if i use an adaptor bar to make them fit?

Ironically I tried that, the 280ZX seats are wider by about 2 inches or so give or take. That and the Rails of the 280Z seats don't fit the mounts on the floor to start with. And finally you don't have the seat belt buckle on the 280Z rails, another reason you can use the rails.

I know it sucks, my 2+2 280ZX seats are torn up and I have a good set of 280Z seats, I might fab up a rail but If i do all that work Im gonna install my racing seat

 

Anyone else with experience with this swap? I found some Z seats but want to make sure they will work in my ZX before i purchase them.
