2nd Best Day of my Life
So, coming back from Alabama i decide to check out this 280zx i saw on E-bay.
I get there and see it and it is all i ever wanted. It is prefect for a 23 year old car.
So i bought it!!!!!!!!!
1983 280zx, paint is less then a year old, new seats, runs great, T tops, power windows, auto, 165k. for $2,400.
What i am going to do:
Get tranny inspected
AC fixed (just need a charge)
Headlights and one tail light (anyone have a drivers side tail light for a 2seat 83?)
Sound system
Headers
New dash and carpet
130mph speedo
Suspension (lower 1 inch)
a lil later engine rebuild
Will get some better pics tomorrow
Still haven't thought of a name yet.

werd. I spend 3 G's on my Z I didn't know any better... I thought I was getting a smokin deal. I have no rust, new paint (about a year old), and it came with a spare engine/5speed. I sold two tranny's and one L28E, and still have one L28E engine left to sale (replaced with my V8). Maybe it wasnt such a bad deal... but compared to some guys on here who got their Z's in running condition with a good body for less than 500 bucks.... kinda makes me feel like throwing up.

Yup, the best thing to do is educate yourself before you make the leap.
If you jump into it without knowing the mark, you could end up being the 'mark'!
Seriously, you've done an excellent job recovering from your initial decision to buy.
I spent 6 months looking a 240z's before I found the one I wanted and then haggled the guy down to $500 over a 3 month period (including the spare motor and 4-speed tranny). I have 9 months invested in my search for that 240z.
I ended up looking at complete crap cars 3 times a week during that 6 months and after seeing that much junk, you start to get an educated eye for the occasional 'diamond in the rough'.
It was still a significant commitment and I had to stop myself a couple of times from buying the wrong car for too much money simply out of frustration.

Yeah, this is the one i wanted. I fell in love with it when i saw and drove it. It isn't perfect yet . . . but i think in about 4-5months i can get it in tip top shape.
Thanks for the the compliment Iww. What is ur real name BTW. I am Alex.
The guy i bought it from used to own a ford dealership. He is like 80 years old. Really nice guy. He bought it for a weekend car and put like 400 miles on it in 2 years.
GRRR . . . . . i have better pic but they are too LAGRE soo here are some crappy ones.
