82 280ZX thermostat bleed hole?
Hey, I got a 82 280ZX that I'm fixing up. I had to replace the exhaust manifold and took off the whole intake and everything off. I was putting the thermostat back in and I noticed that the bleed hole said to face to the left of the engine (toward the passenger or driver's side)? Also, is there a gasket that should go on it, when I took it out it had no gasket on it. If someone has a nice picture I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Welcome to Zdriver man. As for the thermostat, as long as you put the spring to the bottom, you should be fine. I have the same exact year of 280zx you have. So did you also remove the thermostat housing to head? If so, you need to get a gasket for that also. You can also make your own gaskets out of gasket maker. I have done it before. Good luck.

Okay that's good. Yes there should be a gasket that goes around the thermostat. It should be a dollar or so at the most. Otherwise like I mentioned, you could make a gasket out of sheets of material. And you are welcome.
