about to throw in the towel
I'm about to throw in the towel on my Z. She started fine yesterday minus the black smoke. Now she will not start again. I have to move her sence I live on a millitary base. I checked all of the connections and plugs and wires. I have fuel air and spark... what the hell!!!! i'm almost to the point of just giving her away or junking her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skittle man, don't give up my friend. I wish I was closer to help you out. I don't really know what it could be. It is going to be something simple, I guranttee it man. Did you clean all the electrical connectors thoroughly? A quick way is to use Wd-40, and a brush, and let them dry. So clean one, and then clean another, while it is drying. If you had it kind of running yesterday, it has to something simple. Also if it is blowing black smoke, that means it is rich. You are getting too much fuel in the cylinders, and fouling out the plugs. How new is your AFM? That is what happened to my Z earlier this year. My AFM was no good, and caused the ECU to dump more fuel. Because it couldn't read the AFM. When I was ready to throw in the towel. I was really frustrated like you are now. But great people on here, did what it took to get my Z running. We will do the same for you. Basically for me, it was another AFM, that got me running. Also check the AFM plug, and make sure the contacts are clean.
Then get back to us, we will get your Z running yet dude. Don't give up, people on here didn't with me. So we aren't giving up on you, and let you fail. Keep us up bro'.

I know it sounds really stupid, but make sure the AFM is actually PLUGGED IN. I have seen them come unplugged if the little metal retainer clip wasn't perfectly in place...
If that doesn't work, I am going back to my last thought which is to paint it all one color and see what happens
Rod.

Don't be a weenie. You can find and fix the problem... I KNOW you can.
It's going to be something small, stupid and irritating... Kinda like Nismo619 (Except for the "small' part).
Now, get out there and fix your car!

do it fub... stick your size ____ foot up his ***. or.... just cheap it up and go carb.... lol.. ok dont do that. but still... man, just revamp your fuel system.. its time to upgrade obviously go out (unless already done) re-do your connectors. as in replace them. replace wires and stuff if you can. make sure your AFM is good. maybe you jsut need to replace it/rebuild it. spark plugs are good... fuel pump is running good. pressure regulator fuel dampener. man. jsut work your way through the ****. timing is done right. coil is good. distributor is good. as in the points and rotor. spark plug wires are good. man. just look at everything that keeps the car running.
