Air/Fuel ratio gauge?
#26
For my test I grounded it on the battery. Installed in the car it is grounded to the dash frame at a point under the glovebox.
When I installed a new O2 sensor last summer I crimped on two of the factory Nissan connections together since I had a few parts cars around
So I have a pair of spade connectors comming off the O2 sensor instead of just one. I tested on that connector after warming the car up and the gauge worked. The yellow light bounced around in the middle. I noticed I have a slight stumble every 3-4 seconds at idle. (not sure if it was always like this) and the A/F just touches the lean light when it stumbles then goes back to proper mixture. Not important right now, but the gauge appears to be getting a varying signal and repsonding so I know it works.
Once installed, the power and ground are now connected behind the glovebox, not directly to the battery. The purple signal wire was plugged in the exact same way as my 'out of the car' test. That is what is so confusing.

is this an old thread or soemthing? casue J posted... i got an AF gauge though they make em specifically for either wide band or narrow band, mine is the somewhat pricey autometer but got it for dirt cheap... EBAY YO! direct wire to O2 sensor ground it supply power threw either a fuse that only is active during the car running or to your ignition like the ECU is hooked up and what not.

I think I got the power and ground figured out. The gauge comes on fine, and only turns on while the car is running. I'll be messing with the signal wire tonight.
yes this is an old thread. somewhere I thought I had started a thread on the A/F gauge back in September but I couldn't find it so I jacked this one.
