any one want a car like mine?

ok this is odd, i woulda bought this car but it had been sitting for a year and when i was lookin the price was more than what i paid for my car.

http://medford.craigslist.org/car/536181707.html

the odd thing is this is the 3rd car i have found thats EXACTLY THE SAME as my car, same options, year color, trim, EVERYTHING right down to the shitastic headliner that shrank and pulled away from the backing.

when i was talkin to snw on aim when they didnt send a confirmation e-mail he said he hadnt seen this color on these cars, but it must not be rare because SinkHole Oregon has three of the things....

it is tempting for a donor car, being the same color and all

is yours a 2+2 as well?

brown 2+2 Z's aren't really that desirable in my opinion. $500 is a lot for that car. Offer half that and it'll probably he the only offer he gets. It would make a nice parts car.

Brown/tan is not a rare color for Z's. Not for the 280ZX anyway.

My sons '79 coupe ws the same color originally along with the tan interior. Somebody painted it red without proper prep, so large areas of paint were pealing leaving the shiney factory color showing.

yuck.. i'm not a fan of 2+2's... sports cars weren't meant to have back seats... especially Z's. sorry

eh... don't pay attention to them. They're just jealous of having a "short" one. Us 2+2'ers are proud of what we own. Size matters kiddies.

i had a 81 coupe and that was more then enough room inside and out, that and the only thing that dissuades me from a 2+2 is the back window..

The 2+2 280ZX does look a bit goofy, my biggest complaint about it is the fact that it's supposed to be a 4-seater, yet the back seat is useless. The S30 2+2 doesn't look too bad, is about the same length as a 280ZX 2-Seater, and the back seat is usable which is actually kinda nice from time to time.

I wonder what the 350Z would have look like in a 2+2 option. I guess they made the G35 the 2+2 equivilant though.

oh and the rest of you what about this 2+2?
http://www.takkun.net/dri-z-000.htm

if i rember correctly in these cars the 2 seater was rated at a 56% front weight dist but i have never found any info on the 2+2, it is heavier and its extra weight is in the rear, mabe thats why i havent spun it yet

If you want your 2+2 to look good you have to run 18's.
I just happen to have some for sale!

Get used to the comments. You'll get crap from other Z owners just for having a 280ZX (since they think the S30 is the only real Z). Of course, some 350Z owners mock any Z older than 2003... its just a matter of opinion. I had a 280ZX 2+2 for 10 years. I think the t-tops helped with the looks a bit. The back seat was useful in mine.

I thought the 2 seater was advertised as a perfect 50/50 weight balance front to rear. I would think the 2+2 would still be close to that since the extra weight is between the rear wheels, maybe a 49/51 balance front to rear. Either way they all have a pretty good balance and handle fairly nice compaired to other cars from back then. I wish they would have continued using and updating the L28 for a few more years, then maybe we would have low cost, great flowing dohc heads available in junk yards to salvage for our engines lol. For the record the back seat in the 2+2 ZX isn't any more cramped for space than most Eclipse/Talon rear seats, or Mustang/Camaro back seats for that matter. I looked at Subaru Impreza's last summer, and unbelievably they had even less room in the back than any other 4 seater car I've ever seen, and that was with a 4 door.

i road from chicago IL to norwalk OH in the rear seat of a 1G eagle talon. it was just me back there and even THAT wasnt enough space. i just stuffed some pillows against one wall when lateral and toughed it out. lol. at least it was a talon that hauled ***.
