IceIce, it kills me to correct you, but I must ...

Those would be Defi gauges, not Delphi.

Even the tachometer is a 5" Defi unit, just taken out of the shroud and housing, and installed in the stock gauge cluster.

Check out the whole line-up here - www.defi-shop.com - and what's cool is, Tein USA [ http://www.tein.com/defi/index.html ] imports them here.

Defi gauges are the sickest gauges you can buy. Autometer tried to copy them but I don't like the way they look when they're all lit up compared to the defi link gauges. While you're on that link, check out the HUD display they got. I can't remember what THEY call it, but it's pretty sick to. Those gauges are expensive though, plus you've got to buy the control unit to go with it. Very clean looking though.

I think that's the Bomex bumper. Offhand, Bomex's bumper was the only one I've seen that had those vents in the upper part, between the headlights.

I used to have their HUD in my last car and absolutely loved it. I swore I'd put it in my next car, but until I find I find a wire that's outputting a VSS, I can't put it in the ZX just yet. I hear the cruise control receives a VSS signal, though I don't know if it's "modern" enough for the Defi HUD to be able to interpret it.

The late model V6 Mustangs (after 95) that used the T5 have an electronic speed sensor. If you have or put a T5 in your Z then you can probably adapt that sensor to work in a "mechanical" T5. That should work. Check out the links lww posted in the T5 thread for more info on exactly which cars had this sensor.

And how much was the HUD dispay? Defi doesn't quote them on their site and I've had trouble finding a price on one. That would make it a lot easier to get my dash the way I WANT it.

Oh lordy, I can't remember how much that HUD was. I got it like 5-6 years ago. I *think* it may be like $150-200, but I don't remember where I ordered it from.

To ignite an old post, I'm actually in the process of selling my zed. Unfortunately I have too many toys and with a new wife and soon-to-have new home I have to get rid of a few things. Funnily enough i'm finding it really hard to sell in my area (or in australia), people here dont really appreciate this sort of car...

If people want the front spoiler there's a guy in wollongong (NSW, australia) that makes them (and variants of), not sure what shipping is though. contact me if you want his email address...

Yeah, well the toy that I'm keeping is this:

which, out here, is not real common and is worth a good amount. (i know it's fairly common over there).
Irony is, rb26dett's are pretty common over here (not so much in zeds but there is a big trend with 25's and 26's going into 240/260).

Did the ebay thing:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....e=STRK:MEWA:IT

didn't quite work. Need to sell fairly quickly though because I need to be in a better position to get a house and this house i'm looking at right now is beyond perfect and I'd hate to miss out on it.

Painfully common car over here, but I'd give a boat load for a Skyline GT-S...

Everybody wants what they can't have...

Good luck!

haha skyline GTS... man they are painfully common here. at least vettes look good. my mate had a skyline GTS and sold it and bought a toyota chaser, he got a bit bored with the thing. Still, in terms of style not much comes close to a vette, though I don't know what you guys think over there. Aussie cars lack style mostly, some jap cars (which make up the majority of our imports) are stylish but a lot of them are fairly ordinary.

nice vette man. zed guys tend to like the vettes, at least over here anyway ( i assume the same can be said for the USA?). we often hear the zed's referred to as "the poor man's vette". but yeah you're probably right, they'l all be worth about the same in the not too distant future.

Wondering about a vette related thing, (i should probably find a decent american vette forum to post in), I've heard that at the Pomona swap meet you can pick up chrome dress kits for the engine for dirt cheap, I'm wanting to get hold of some chrome valve covers and any other nice little chromey bits for the engine but of course in Aus they are almost non-existant and if they are they're really expensive, and trying to find them on places like ebay to import is also a pain (the swap meets seem like the way to go, of course it helps to be able to be there in the flesh). So, any ideas how i can go about sourcing some cheap ***** chrome accessories?

I like Corvettes. It is funny because at least where I live, I can't drive anywhere without seeing a corvette. Even the old ones like the Stingray and such. The only ones that are really rare are the first model corvettes and there's even like 1 or 2 of those driving around here.

The poor man's vette that accelerates like a Vette and handles like a Porsche of the same era for half the money.

haha nice. well i would agree the zeds handle better and are cheaper, as a general. I guess it's all up to individual's tastes. I like owning a vette in Australia because they are that uncommon, my vette turns more heads than any other car I've owned/driven (200sx S14A (silvia), 280zx (3 of them), 300zx Z31, even a 1940 Vauxhall!). And let's face it, i like being noticed I've wanted one since I was 11, even though my 280zx is more special and rarer and handles better (etc) I still prefer to hold on to the vette. I guess it's a bit of an emotional thing really, owning cars like ours.

If I owned a rare car I'd definitely hang onto it. It's funny considering that I see alot of Z31s around my area, but next to no 280ZXs, then I have two of them in my driveway.
