Hello, I bought a 83zxt with 100k to gut for my early 260z.
Can't do it! Car in too good shape!
I have a lust for speed and in a bad way....after tuning her up.
So the 260Z, more beautiful shape....no question about it, and still my favorite, [for now] went on the back burner. Perfect mechanicals on her and in pretty good shape.
Started the performance upgrade and where I'm at now.
Bought a custom downpipe, test tube, fittings to complete exhaust system on ebay, was made by jeffp over at zcar and hybrid. Verry Sweet Setup, not many like it, and worth what I paid.
see link here for details....http://www.angelfire.com/extreme/280zxt/page11.html
{paid a whole....lot for this puppy}
Got 240sx throttlebody with linkage adapted to mine
JWT450hp kit includes....
88 turbo ecu programmed for a 83zxt
420cc Bosch injectors
Ford Cobra MAF
MSD 43 Gph fuel pump
Dizzy from 300zx to use for upgrade
Stock turbo w/plans to upgrade to a ball bearing turbo JWT spec.
Looking at a NPR intercooler
I have bought and paid for the above parts...minus a turbo....still undecided on where to go with that.
Problem is that I am in Mississippi......and no contact with people in the know about these cars here.
So I guess I'll be posting here and on the other sites for advice and information on the upcoming project.
So "welcomeeeee.........to the machine" [Pink Floyd]
So, what do yaal think?
kenny.

flatbed Powerstroke Ford
Pulls my landscape trailer and all my equipment. [Landscaper] Got Superchips programmer upgrade and is turbo.
When in hi-preformace mode [seems] fast as or faster than the turbo!
Thread is NOT about performance diesels....lol

You got me there....I simply cannot and will not gut this '83zxt. We take runs down I-55 South to a town called Senatobia and back and with the Weber upgrade show an indicated 132mph. Bone stock cept the carbs and emissons. I have a line on a turbo donor but there is nothing at all wrong with the 260...perfect mechanical condition. Needs floors though. Love your pics of your car.

Problem is I am starting to love the '83 Turbo too. More modern car.

yeah... but i dotn know about the interior design... and the more squeard exterior of the zx... i just dont picture myself in one. and the weber upgrade? like the tiple weber carbs? cause uhh... if you get a turbo motor ill take those lousy useless carbs off your hand.

These wheels have been swapped around so frequently over the last 25 years out of either necessity or preference that it's a miracle when you see one with the original wheels for whatever year the car is!
