I was sure it was a Corolla, but now I'm not sure... Maybe it is a Tercel. I'll look tomorrow.

Anyhooter, there's still an AWD Corolla...

There were RWD corollas, I don't believe there were any mid 80's AWD corollas . The corollas are quite expensive, more expensive then a lot of Z's for their drifting and modifying potential. Theyre the AE86's that come in SR5's or GT-S's. Theyre called hatchi roku's I believe. Or perhaps you guys are referring to something else. Oh, and they have hatchbacks and coupes. Hatchbacks are actually considered nicer usually, plus they supposedly have better balance.

they did make an AWD corolla in the early 90s. it was a wagon. in japan they had a diesel AWD corolla sedan.

There was also a 4wd Sentra, or maybe it was a Stanza wagon built in the mid '80s.

I have no idea what this has to do with the original thread

They made an AWD turbo Pulsar... in Japan of course. Not in the USA.
The Stanza wagon was one ugly looking car. Looks lika like those Honda civic wangons... I think those might be awd too

For a sleeper turbocharged AWD car, I like the Mazda 323 GTX. Basically a homologated ralley car.

Is the Mazda factory turboed or are you talking about turbocharging an AWD NA car?

I think its great how I see ads for old rwd cars with open diff... like 1981 Toyota Corolla or 1979 Datsun B210 (ugly junkers) and the sellers are saying "RWD, perfect drift project!"

ya, whatever... it takes more than rwd to make a drifter. Start with a real car

I really doubt it would be at a good price unless the motor is blown, but I know that's how you like it ... "blown motor"

They usually run about 3k-5k in decent condition unless the owner doesn't know what they have. I'm hoping to find a grandma owned one
