Clutch info.
Hey just wondering if anyone has tried the 6 puck clutches that are online. I want to know if they last very long considering there is less surface area I realize the matieral is better. Any info on clutches you guys have put in and how well they have done. Im planning on doing some autocrossing but mostly just daily driving. I am prob harder on them than "normal".
The car is a '82 280zx turbo. stock for now soon to have a boost controller to 9psi. intercooler/ turbo upgrade down the road.Thanks.

Lots of internet info on puck clutches....

and the list goes on. Sounds like the ACT-6 clutch is fairly popular... I personally have never been interested in the pucks as it seems counter-intuitive to me to have less friction area, but I haven't done the physics research on them either.
I have a CFDF clutch and I love it... and I abuse it on every drive.

Do I really need to take the exhaust pipe down to take the tranny out? How do you get the shifter out? My book isnt specific enough. but i was told this would be fairly easy Thanks

I cut mine.
Yes, I cut right through it about 3/5 the way because i could not unbolt it without breaking the bolts on the manifold. Then i used a cinder block and extension chord to move the exhaust to the side enough for the tranny to slip past.
Stainless steel tape will suffice until i decide to get custom exhaust piped
