I have a bosche type bypass, like jim wolf sells.
help please.

got my panasports and re-11s. 225-50-16. tight fit on front.

nope

compressor bypass valve.

pop off is different.

my car doesn't have a compressor bypass valve installed.

someone said it should go to pvc as a joke. Factory, it goes to the aac valve, I think.
Got rid of everything on the manifold, per fubar....to clean up the intake.
thanks, need to plumb up jpipe, gotta spark plug wedged in there for now.
kenny.

^^^ That didn't really clarify anything... so, tell me, #1, 2, or 3? Sounds like you are talking about #1, but a bypass valve would either be the wastegate or blow off valve...

turbo question

wastegate actuater plumbed to intake manifold instead of compressor outlet.
vaccum line to actuater collapses with the manifold vaccum.
turbo boost is limited to pop off valve on manifold. [I think]

question:

When boost happens, will it work to open up the collapsed vaccum line? I cannot tell blipping the throttle, standing next to car.
Actuater does not move, however, I know it's boosting.

Want to up the boost.

thanks in advance.

jpipe

guys, the stock jpipe has a hose fitting on top. From what Ive read from searching forums, this is the compressor bypass valve.

I cleaned up the intake manifold and don't have the aac valve, which I believe it was connected too.

I just need to know where to run a hose from the hose fitting on top of the jpipe to the intake.
sorry if im confusing yall.

The j pipe runs from the compressor housing to the 240sx throttle body, it has a wrinkle black paint finish to it, shaped like...well...a..."J"
I don't see it in your excellent pics nismo.
kenny.

Merged threads... no need for 2 threads when you already have a new thread.

Answer (in another question)... have you tried getting vacuum likes that won't collapse?

I'm not sure why you are making a big deal about the j-pipe, but it wasn't installed when I took that pic. Here's a "complete" one for you:

post a picture

I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Yes, the 280zx turbo has a compressor bypass, it went to the aac valve. I cleaned up the intake manifold and now the jpipe fitting has no place to go....!

phone camera picture of car.

I see

So I have to plumb it back to the intake manifold. Should I reinstall the aac valve and do it your way, or will the avaliable vaccum ports support the volume of air?
kenny.

If I read your first post right, you can use the nipple on the J-pipe for the bottom of the bosch bypass valve, and use the recirc part to vent back into a tube before the compressor. It's not pretty, but it will work. Otherwise, I'm misreading what you're trying to say. The Bosch bypass valve is only good to about 14 psi before it leaks btw. The Porsche style ones can handle a bit more boost, but not much.

I installed the bosche bypass valve just off the jpipe. I am currently venting to atmosphere.
Satisfying phooshe...! sound everytime I lift off throttle, it operates everytime I lift off throttle, even a little bit, you hear it, so I know the compressor is spinning freely on partial and closed throttle.

I will plumb it up to intake later.

Problem is, 2 turbo cars and one complete engine in parts! No static model for me to reference.

thanks for your reply,
kenny.

Is is plastic? Most of those plastic bypass valves leak boost.
