the cost?
I have tryed for almost a year now to get my car to sucsessfully idel. No rebuild, not really any new part's(besides plugs, plug wire's, batt, oil, filter, and a gasket or two). so far a failure. I have been planing on rebuilding this motor anyway, i just wanted to hear it run, and idle. 500+ for a rebuild kit(so far as i have found) and only inclueds gasket's, pistion's, and ring's?, no cam, no crank, no rod's, no barrings. i would easly pay 500-700 for a kit that included pistion's, rings, rod's barrings gasket's, and at least a cam. or at least with rod's and barrings. anyone seen or know where this Master kit is? Autozone has a mater kit, but only gasket's, pistions, and rings.

MSA... BlackDragonAuto (VB)... Nissan... Most machine shops...
Lots of places can get you rebuild kits. Just shop around.
Here's a ROUGH estimate (not too acurate as I don't have the info in front of me right now)
Pistons: $200 - $300 (with ring kit)
Bearings: $100 - $150
Rods: (should be reuseable) Magnafluxed / Cross-peened: $100
Seal Kit: $100
Machine work on block & head: $200 - $400

Fubar, you dont need to replace the crank or rods unless there is damage. And in most cases you dont need to replace the pistons either. Just make sure everything is within specs. Always dissasemble and inspect the motor before ordering anything for the internals. If you dont own a set of precision measuring tools then you've got no place ordering the stuff you need. Let a machine shop that if you dont have the means of inspecting everything. In most cases when there was no engine damage, bearings, rings and rod bolts will usually comprise what you should replace on the interior of the engine.
For your cylinder head: Inspect it or have it inspected before you order anything like a cam. If the head is warped or cracked beyond repair then you may as well buy a rebuilt cylinder head complete with a new cam and valve train. Save yourself some money that way instead of buying the cam seperately.
Unless you're the original owner you have no way of telling what has already been done to the inside of that motor.
