Crossing rods for hood.

Can someone tell me how the connecting rods for the hood go on? One of the hinges broke, so I pulled the hood out. I got the new hinge on, but I can't figure out how those two crisscrosing rods go back on.

they're kindof a pain to put together... put on a pair of gloves so ya don't take off a finger. Ya just gotta mess w/ the hinges for a min to see where the bars fit back in. here is a pic of my z w/ out the hood on:

I sti;ll can't figure it out, I see how they connect on the part of the hinge that goes directly to the hood, but I can't figure out how they connect to the part of the hinge that connects to the car.

Slip the bare end into the clips on the car on one side. The other end (which bolts to the hinge plate) should be pointing straight forward. (away from the car) Twist it up and backwards untill you can snap it into place on the hindge. You will notice this gives tension on the hindge pressing forward which would lift the hood up if it were in the down position. Do the same on the other side.

It is hard to explain this without drawing a bunch of pictures or making a video.

I think you did send it to me quite a while ago. Good stuff.
You've got quite a video collection made now.

Thanks guys, the pic you had Nismo helped me get a start, and Bleach, your information helped me finish it. I got the hood on and it wouldn't line up exactly, then I couldnt pop the hood back up because the passenger side was stuck on the piece of trim that goes around the headlights. So I sat for about 30 minutes, undoing the passenger side bolts connecting the hinge to the hood, from under the car reaching my arm through that front grill piece. Got it, re-aligned everything, and now I'm good to go.
